We are pleased to announce some of our new partners who are using Nextdoor to communicate with residents in their local government area.
Western Sydney Local Health District (NSW Health)
We are so excited to welcome Western Sydney Local Health District, a local public health division of NSW Health, onto Nextdoor. The Centre for Population Health provides health protection and promotion services to people in Sydney’s West. The District covers four Local Government Areas and has a population of over 940,000 people coming from a diverse range of social, economic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Since joining in June 2021, the Centre for Population Health WSLHD has been using the platform to share critical health information and public health alerts particularly related to COVID outbreaks and to encourage testing, vaccination and keeping people safe, healthy and connected during lockdown.
South East Sydney Local Health District (NSW Health) Public Health Unit, NSW
We also welcome the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) who provide public health services to people in Sydney’s southern and eastern suburbs, and the eastern and central sectors of the City of Sydney. The District covers seven Local Government Areas and has a population of over 900,000 people. We are excited to welcome SESLHD onto Nextdoor so that they can share important information and public health alerts to help prevent and minimise public health risks to the community, such as infectious disease outbreaks.
NSW State Emergency Service (SES) – Marrickville Unit
The Marrickville Unit of the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) provides volunteer emergency and rescue services to the people living in the Inner West of Sydney. We are excited to welcome them onto Nextdoor to share key information and community education to local residents to help them prepare for emergencies.
Brisbane Festival, QLD
We are so excited to welcome the Brisbane Festival onto Nextdoor. Our members can help play a role in bringing Street Serenades to local neighbourhoods by nominating as a suburban host – sharing their local knowledge to help plan and promote an event in their own hood!
Brisbane Festival is bringing Street Serenades to neighbourhoods across Brisbane City this September with free live music performances. Click the Brisbane feed if you are in that hood to stay up to date!
With the help of Nextdoor members, we can’t wait to see how the city’s suburbs will sparkle with cabaret cul-de-sac concerts, pop music park performances, string quartet street parties and driveway dancehalls!
Clean Up Australia, AUS
Clean Up Australia is a charity most of you will know, due to the amazing work they’ve been doing in the environmental sector for over 30 years in Australia; since 1989 they’ve been encouraging neighbours to get together and clean up, fix up and conserve the environment – not just on Clean Up Australia Day, but all year round.
Clean up Australia has joined Nextdoor to share information about ways neighbours can get involved in their local area, as an individual or group, to reduce waste, adapt a street and get involved in local clean up activities any day of the year. The synergy here is huge and we support them in their mission to ‘Clean Up Australia’
Rotary Club of Unley, SA
Rotary Club of Unley is a local volunteer-run charity, based in the inner-southern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The Rotary Club of Unley plays an active role in supporting the Unley community, supporting local causes from free coffee campaigns, RU Ok Day and tree planting activities, as well as running a local Thrift Shop and a range of other events. We are excited to welcome them onto Next Door to engage with local members and continue their support of local causes and projects.
Justice Connect, AUS
Welcome to Justice Connect – a legal services organisation that works to increase access to legal help and progress social justice. Justice Connect offers free legal services to individuals and community organisations. They have joined Nextdoor to get the word out about their free legal help and advice service available to small businesses and farmers in regional areas of NSW and Victoria affected by bushfires and floods.

Home to Sydney’s famous Bondi, Bronte and Tamarama beaches, Waverley Council covers 9km2 along Sydney’s eastern suburbs, with an estimated population of around 74,276 residents.

City of West Torrens
City of West Torrens is in the western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia, with an estimated population of around 61,700 residents. There are 23 Nextdoor neighbourhoods in the City and we are so excited to welcome them onto Nextdoor to engage with and share essential information about local services, programs and events with members.
Ku-ring-gai Council
We are so pleased to welcome Ku-ring-gai Council onto Nextdoor to share information about local events, issues and topics of interest with members. Ku-ring-gai Council is located on the leafy North Shore of Sydney, just 16 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD, with an estimated resident population of 127,153.
Nextdoor neighbourhoods are established across all 17 Ku-ring-gai suburbs. From North Turramurra to Roseville, and St Ives to Wahroonga thousands of residents are already using Nextdoor to connect. In fact, Turramurra is one of the largest and most active Nextdoor neighbourhoods in NSW!
HomeGround, ACT
HomeGround Real Estate is a community-minded, NFP social enterprise in Canberra. They have joined Nextdoor to share information with the community about renting in the ACT, including tips, tenancy advice and practical support to help neighbours navigate the tightest and most expensive rental market in Australia.
The Men’s Table, NSW/VIC
We welcome The Men’s Table – a charity dedicated to creating supportive communities of local men around Australia. Local ‘Table’ groups provide a private, safe space where men meet once a month over a simple meal to share the highs and lows of their lives with a group of peers. Some of the benefits of their programs include improving mental, emotional and social wellbeing and lifetime friendships.
The Men’s Table have joined Nextdoor through our free agency partner pages to connect with neighbours and share information about the support available through their network of ‘Tables’.

St David’s Neighbourhood Centre, QLD
St David’s Neighbourhood Centre is a local community centre in the southern suburbs of Brisbane. They provide support, connection and friendship for community members. As well as sharing volunteering opportunities, they provide programs and services for people of all ages including social groups, a Thrift Shop, playgroup, respite activities, information and referral services.
Nextdoor is excited to welcome St David’s Neighbourhood Centre onto Nextdoor!
Korus Connect (Whitehorse), VIC
Korus Connect has joined us at Nextdoor to help create more local connections in the City of Whitehorse, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
They are a NFP whose vision is to support communities and support a thriving local area. Their website says, “We bring our experience, resources and networks to start conversations, collaborate on community initiatives and empower communities to become inspired, supported and whole”. Local ‘Community Connectors’, like Ian in Whitehorse, work in ‘community hubs’ to connect people to local support services such as Council, community groups and services, schools and local businesses and this is something we are proud to support.
Radio Northern Beaches
Radio Northern Beaches is a community-based radio station broadcasting on 88.7/90.3 FM that serves the northern peninsula of Sydney with community news, interviews and music programs made and presented by local residents.
We are excited to welcome Radio Northern Beaches as a news partner, sharing a range of local news, music and talk programs and their live broadcasts.
