Today we are excited to introduce Nextdoor’s new ‘Global Look’ that includes a different logo and a bright spring colour refresh. You may have noticed it already on your app or on desktop.
We’ve seen the power neighbourhoods have when we tap into them, especially in unprecedented times like we are all in right now.
The neighbourliness we have witnessed throughout the year has been a huge inspiration and it’s why we have given Nextdoor a new brand identity that reminds us how powerful simple acts really are – we’ve been moved by the remarkable changes that can come from the smallest of neighbourly gestures, including a wave.
A wave is a universal welcoming gesture of ‘hello’ and neighbourliness. It’s a simple action that we all do, and that’s enough to change somebody’s day.
It’s also individual, in that everyone has their own unique wave – waves also build and grow. One wave leads to another, and another. This friendly, waving ‘n’ is our centerpiece. It welcomes you every time you see it and we hope you love it as much as we do!
If there’s anything we’ve learned in our years of neighbouring at Nextdoor, it’s that neighbourhoods are built on small, simple actions – the barista owner who greets you by name each morning, the stranger who lets you go first in line at the chemist, or the neighbour who waves at you from across the street while your putting out the bins.
The new look is also an invitation for all neighbours to unlock the possibilities nearby, and to tap into your neighbourhoods and discover what’s on offer – local businesses, new places, local knowledge and of course, people. The new Nextdoor logo is an invitation to take a first step. The bright, spring green expresses a warm welcome.
Nextdoor was founded 10 years ago in San Francisco. The company has now expanded to 11 countries across 3 continents. As the company has grown, so has our vision. To meet the evolving needs of new and existing markets, both on and off the platform, the rebrand aims to help capture the essence of who we are. A platform that is welcoming to all neighbours. A place where everyone can have a neighbourhood to rely on.
A neighbour-centric focus
Nextdoor’s brand identity is inspired by the actions and attitudes we’d like to see more of on the platform. Simple, small acts of kindness are the cornerstone of neighbourly interactions. Sometimes it’s the ‘weak ties’ nearby that make the biggest impact . It doesn’t take much – a smile, a nod, a wave.
Remember to update the Nextdoor app regularly to make sure you have the latest version.
We’re excited for you to join us on this next step in the Nextdoor journey!
I think getting feedback from the people who actually use the site would have been helpful. Speaking for myself, I find this bile green really unpleasant. I read what you wrote about using green and I agree, but there are so many shades that are more appealing. Anyhow, that’s just me.
